Whitney Stewart, director of clinical project management at Curebase, a US-based DCT technology and services provider, homed in on alignment as an area for progress in the decentralized trial space in 2023. “This past year [2022], there has been a push for more industry-aligned guidance throughout the modern clinical trials space – for example, we’ve seen the Decentralized Trials & Research Alliance (DTRA) put forth a glossary to unify terminology among stakeholders. This trend is far from over. As we move into the new year, we can expect a series of guidance documents in the digital therapeutics (DTx) space, standardizing methods, helping to navigate regulatory compliance, and aiding in overall alignment from DTx industry leaders such as the Digital Therapeutics Alliance (DTA). I am hopeful 2023 will result in fulfilling the need for clarification and alignment throughout the decentralized space and propel us forward in a more unified patient-focused manner.”
